‘We come to worship, not be entertained. This is the heart of how we worship God.’ After years of paying professional worship teams to lead worship in their meetings, the leaders of Heritage Christian Fellowship felt in their spirits that they needed to change the way they approached and stewarded worship. Volunteer worship leaders from Four12 partnering churches were sent into Heritage and, within the space of a few months, things began to shift as space was created for personal, authentic worship to flow freely from the hearts of the congregation. This is their beautifully raw account of the events leading up to this radical change.
