In a two-part sermon, Andrew Selley preaches on the grace and favour of God, and explains the difference(s) between the two. “Grace” refers to the undeserved and unearned love and mercy shown by God to the human race, when He accepted Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross as penalty for all our sin. Because Jesus has done it all, we cannot “earn” our salvation and are saved by grace. “Favour”, on the other hand, is the special blessing or benefits of God. Just like Jesus (Luke 2:52), we can grow in favour with God. Andrew gives a few keys to growing in favour with God, including trust, obedience, humility, contending for blessing, keeping the call of God and the church central in our lives, worshiping in the secret place, honoring leaders, generosity, hating sin and false teaching, and persevering until the end.
Andrew is the apostolic leader of Four12 and he ministers worldwide. He is also the lead elder of the multi-site Joshua Generation Church. He is based in Cape Town, South Africa, along with his wife, Emma, and their daughter, Enyah. Follow him on Facebook and Instagram for more.
