The Transfiguration was one of the most significant moments in the life of Jesus, indeed, in the whole of history. Euan explores the significance of Jesus’ glorification on the mountain and why it was so vital for three of His disciples to witness the event.
Very rarely, could a man witness the glory of God and survive, but by their witness Peter, John and James were able to testify to the real identity of Jesus. Of course, they could not remain on the mountain, because there were people in the valleys who needed to hear what had taken place.
The same is true for us: we cannot remain in mountain–top places with God because there are nations of people living in the valleys who need to see the Light of Jesus. We are carriers of that Light, and we must be ready to take the message of the Gospel to the darkest places.
