Following Jesus does not mean living without opposition – it means learning how to stand when adversity comes. Scripture shows that King Hezekiah strengthened what he could, protected Jerusalem’s water supply, prayed, and then trusted the Lord to do what only He could do. We can apply this pattern to the pressures we face through criticism, misunderstanding, slander, spiritual attack, and hardship. In this Conference session, Euan MacRae encourages us to keep digging when forgiveness is hard, keep pursuing fellowship when church life is painful, and keep choosing love when bitterness feels easier. Our confidence rests in God, our deliverer, who fights the battles beyond our strength.
