Guarding Your Rest
When the temple was rebuilt the second time, Nehemiah made some crucial reforms. In this message, Ashley Gabriel looks at this account in the book of Nehemiah, unpacking these reforms in light of our walk with the Lord and our calling. Nehemiah urged the Israelites to bring their tithes, ensuring that the priests can serve full-time without distraction, and also addresses the sanctity of the Sabbath, commanding the gates of Jerusalem to be closed to prevent work and maintain its holiness. This message challenges us to prioritise spiritual renewal and to safeguard our time for rest, emphasising that true ministry flows from a place of wholeness and refreshment.
